About this project
The Mask plug-in for Rhino/Grasshopper connects two existing tools — Ladybug's Dragonfly and Elk — into a streamlined pipeline for urban climate analysis. Written in Python, it takes OpenStreetMap geometry as input and generates building topology and urban EPW files, which feed directly into energy and environmental simulations.
The plug-in removes the manual steps typically required to get real city geometry into an analysis-ready format, making it practical to run urban-scale studies without leaving the Grasshopper environment. It is published and freely available on Food4Rhino.
