About this project
A master's programme design challenge with an open brief: a temporary tower for refugees newly arrived in Barcelona, sited on the water near the shore. The concept is built around a single motion — growing outward while folding back — inspired by the way flowers open.
This gesture is applied at every scale: the apartments, the circulation paths, the roof shading elements, and the overall outer form. A contrasting communal area at the top provides the counterpoint.
No constraints, no regulations — an exercise in letting a single formal idea drive an entire building.
